Hm, well, I get all of my tattoos for me, and deep reasons, but I can't go too deep, It would require a lot of typing, so here's them in a nutshell(only elaborating a few):
I have a "Love Never Fails" chestpiece. It is love-themed and also in honor and loving memory of my mother in Law. I got the Robins because her name was Robin, and then I have this whole elaborate symbolism on the whole thng. All of the images, the placements, the colors all have to do with the love in my life, how it has never let me down, love of God, my family, my husband, and friends. I would not be here today if I lost the love that have helped me throught my life. This tattoo is big and bright, and very meaningful. It is award winning, and my favorite, and will be the center of my theme of tattoos on my body.
My sleeve(incompleted) is for my love of Tim Burton, Nightmare Before Christmas, and mostly Halloween! I grew up with a lot of monster movies, NMBC, and Halloween-ness in my life, and those are very fond memories I wanted to always be reminded of...It's of the nightmare before christmas stuff, so this symbolizes more of my childhood, and the innocence I left behind when I had to grow up....etc..
I also have random Tattoos on my body that are incomplete, and Halloween/Horror themed. I have an immense love for halloween, and all things horror, but they also express me, and symbolize my unique ways and personality, my individuality.
I love tattoos, and what they do for me, what they help me though...they're amazing...and I love them. I don't get them for you to like them or dislike them...simply for me! :-)

I have a tattoo of Tinkerbell on the upper right corner of my back. She's posing with her arms in the air in front of 2 roses with a banner around her that says 'sweet love'. I don't care what anyone says, it hurt. The outline was okay it's when the color was being applied it when it hurt a little. I got it because I absolutely love Tink. That and I figured the little pixie could grow old with me, at least she doesn't talk back, lol. And when I age, she'll age. Plan on getting another one this week. They're addicting. If you get one, make sure thats what you want, cause once its there, it's there for good. Don't be afraid to be unique, get something that no one else has. Check out this website to find some good ideas...even on butterflies..

Sigh,,, yes I have one.
I'm intrigued by body art, and intend another,,,soon. Some great artists prcatice that craft.
What I'm confused by, and maybe I'm just an idiot, is why someone wants to mark their body, yet hide it? Most of the time.
Certainly I GET IT that a full blown scene across a womans chest might be awkward in a low cut dress, or an applicant for DISNEY for example, might be rejected for "FULL SLEEVES" permanently inked, but the reasons, have become trendy more so than as taking on an artistic expression.
Obviously we can't walk around in public topless, or maybe shouldn't. So many get "Inked" to make some kind of statement, yet cover the statement, never truly allowing it to be expressed, or as an explanation of it's meaning to them.
Another thing I guess I'm confused by is the subjects chosen,,,sometimes with no real connection to it. No offense meant at all, but I assume you simply like Butterflys? Without question a Butterfly is already a work of NATURAL art, and seems a likely subject, but I don't get it, when it comes to hiding it,,,,More especially on a part of your own body where you'd have to have a mirror or two, and/ or twist your head around to see it???
At the very least choose the artist wisely.

I am a 32 yr historical feminine. I love tatoos. I best have one small butterfly on my belly. I believe that tatoos are style of artwork and expression. I am definately no longer adversarial to any guys getting tatoos. I might most often have plenty extra if I used to be no longer in a official role and it might be regarded badly. Many persons are prejudice towards tatoos--one million. suppose they're distracting two. are unattractive three. sterotype them as being dangerous.

I have two tattoo's
My first tattoo is on my right upper arm and it is the bullhead (taurus) tattoo infront of flames. I have the Astrological taurus sign because that is what my mother brother and I all are. The bullhead is an outline and it is in red and the flames are black.
My second tattoo is on my right lower calf. It is of the Pisces symbol which is what my husband is. I had that one reversed so the symbol is in black and outlined in red.
The reason that I did red and black is because they are my favorite colors and just happen to be my husbands also. He picked out and paid for my pisces and my brother paid for my taurus they both mean alot to me and represent a time in my life.

I have one on my right arm. It starts from the top and goes half way down almost touching my elbow , it's a combo... a tribal w/ an angel that is praying and has the day my grandma was born and the day she past away as well as her name. My grandma was my bestfriend and I just wanted my first tat to be something I would never regret having, and something to always remind me how cool of a person she was. Hope your tat brings you joy like mine did, and good luck because mine hurt like hell ;)
