if you visit the website for the local bureau of motor vehicles there should be a section where you can pull up the driving records. all you'll need is his drivers license number.

A driving record itself is supposedly public but they will not release personal info (address, SSN, etc..) Obviously you don't need that info since it's your son.

You'd have to go to your state's DMV office or website to find the info about obtaining the driving record. Some states do not require a fee for a parent obtaining their minor child's driving record. Some require forms and some don't. Just call them and they can help you. It will most likely be mailed to you.

If your child is over 18, you will most likely need to pay the fee or he will have to sign a release form.

National Driver Register (NDR) has a database with info about drivers who have had a revoked or suspended license or have been convicted of serious traffic violations (DWI, drugs). Again, it's through the mail and you need to have the form notarized. I don't know how they deal with parents of minors. You can call and ask if they can help you: 1-888-851-0436

If your son is 18 or above, it's unlikely that you can get access to his police record without his consent. A matter of privacy.

If he is below 18, his legal guardians should be notified of all violations of the law.
