Probably not "ruined, just really dry and damaged. Get a wicked good conditioner.

If you do it once or twice I don't think it would ruin it but more than that then I would recommend just investing in a flat iron. A flat iron is at least designed for your hair, as opposed to the iron which can probably get much hotter in temperature--hotter than your hair was ever supposed to be. So if you want to straighten your hair and get rid of frizzies, use an ionic hair dryer and invest in a flat iron, they're not too expensive these days.

Getting your hair ironed every week will definately ruin it eventually. I would suggest that you STOP doing it every week, cut it down to once every month or so. But, if you MUST do it every week for whatever reason, make sure you also get a moisture treatment done every week and get your hairdresser to use a protective spray or serum on your hair. You will also need regular trims, as even with all these precautions your hair will eventually dry out and split.

Have the hairstylist use a heat protecting product. Your hair won't get ruined. Your getting this done by a professional. The heat from the flat iron can get damaged hair if your using it everyday & not using a heat protecting product... But your hairstylist will be able to tell if your hair is getting damage.

No more than someone who uses a curling iron or blow dryer on their hair. With proper conditioning and use of the iron, it should be fine.

Hello- Moisture's your best bet. After awhile, maybe let your hair rest. No iron, and moisture as much as possible. It will dry your hair out. Take Care!

Yes, that is really bad for your hair. I hope you're using plenty of conditioner. Maybe you should give your hair a break.

just dry and damaged, but if you want a sleeker and straighter hair have it rebonded, before i used to iron my hair until i had it rebonded, it saved me time and money going to the hair salon, my hair's shiny now and very straight, i love it! but remember to go to a professional hair stylist.
