There really isn't a huge gap. The gap in His life as it is written was spent growing, learning the Torah Law and when he was 12 he was already teaching the Rabbi's the Torah Law. Even though he was God in the flesh he was still flesh and had to learn and understand spiritually as a Rabbi would. He was also learing about carpentry just like his (step) father Joseph. So there really is no gap just a quiet time of preparing for his ministry.

Good point!!

You would think that with the prophesies of the "Messiah" that attracted three "wise men" from the East (not kings but "astrologers" or Mages"), would have had his immediate community , probably the "Essenes" would have recorded his life. You would also think that all the "biblcal" writings would have a "date" on them, at least the letters of Paul, Peter etc... (the epistles)...No date on any of them...

Anyway, Jesus is rumoured (according to the Rosicrucians) to have travelled to Egypt where he became an adept of the "Great White Brotherhood", becoming a Master of that order, hence his title "rabbi" or "teacher" or "Master". Others have records of him in India, where he is rumoured to have studied the Yogas of the time. His message is certainly not one from the "mediteranean" area and are more closely related to the "Greek" philosophers and the Yogas, specially Raja Yoga, an "eightfold path" or yoga of the Mind. His views on "re-incarnation" are certainly Eastern and not Vestern...That is overlooked by most Christians.

Strange again that there are no records, but with the many wars that have ravaged that area since the beginning of history, one is not surprised that records are not treasured and salvaged, but are lost. And then the Church "loses" all the records that does not agree with the "autocrats" of the time and probably many accounts were destroyed by the Catholic Church thoughout history. There are still many accounts of writings before that period (Christian era) that form a part of the "apocrypha" for reasons of politics more that "spirituality" like the Book of Ruth that has dragons in it.

Strange lots these "theists" and Dogmatists. One can imangine them doing anything including "criminal" and Un-Christ-like behaviours...Religion is certainly not "democratic" and "fair"...

The Bible mentions most about Jesus' ministry, teachings and crucifixion. Jesus' ministry began only after He was baptised with the Holy Spirit and the 40 days temptation in the wilderness after which He returned in the power of the Holy Spirit. Before that he live life as a normal human person although it was mentioned that God's grace and wisdom were with Him.

Because the Bible focuses on what is most important which is the Gospel. Gospel means "Good News". The good news is this: "For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." -John 3:16 www.equip.org

The purpose of the Gospels is to communicate the message of Jesus Christ the Son of God, the Saviour. So those elements of His life which pertain to that are related in the Gospels. They are not biographies.

Because its a story and that part wasn't important. Same reason there are gaps in stories now.

Because like a good kid, he was busy learning the trade of carpentry, and getting an education, and working to help support his family. In other words, he did nothing outstanding during that time.

Joseph died when Jesus was young and he spent most of his early life caring for his mother brothers and sisters. He also traveled widely. For full revelation see Urantia Book.
