Men on here say they flirt because they are interested. Can somebody tell me why an unmarried (but dating another woman) man, a bit older than me, would show interest and when I finally warm up to him he couldn't care less? Could it be that he just needed to win me over, get his ego stroked, and once I'm in he's done with the game?

Could I be attracting these type of men? Ahh, it's frustrating.

Well people can tend to act much different on here than they would if you met them in person. To some it is just a big game...For me, I like to talk but I state right away I am not looking for some online long distance infatuation romance, but I am totally cool with the idea that I can be friends with someone who I only talk to online...heck I have at least four women I chat with online a lot but there is no issue as far as any misleading going on...

So I think you answered your own question...

I can't speak for everyone, but I flirt for one specific purpose - besides the obvious thing you're thinking about right now.... It's to prove to myself that I still have "It" and can be desireable to the opposite sex.

I found myself doing it more because when I was in a relationship as an ego check.

you got it right with stroking his ego. alot of guys are all talk and no action. regardless of how long and how happy a guy is in a relationship, he still likes knowing that he can flirt with other girls and if he wanted he coulod still get them. in your case, he just wanted to know he could still get you if he wanted. but he pulled away when it would actually happen. as whether you are attracting these types of guys? when you first meet a guy ask him if he is dating someone first!

I think you got it right. These type of guys are looking to get an interest from everyone to stroke their ego.

He probably wanted an ego boost - he's probably not that happy with his girlfriend, and he wanted to prove to himself that he can still get a young attractive woman.

He proved that point once you responded to him - and now he doesn't need you, because, bottom line, he still has a girlfriend and doesn't want to leave her...

He was playing head games with you... sorry to have to tell you that...

some men are just like that. I had a guy do that to me this summer. now he acts like I've got the plague. I'm pretty sure in my case it was a ego thing...and besides this guy your talking about has a girl. just ignore him.

I think some people (men and women) flirt for the fun of it. Sometimes to see if the person likes them, and sometimes they don't even realize they are doing it.

It's not that you attract that type of men, they go for all kinds of people, you never know when you'll be the one they go for.
