Well, my parents don't think so. Thye constantly complain on what a horrible daughter I am, and how they wish they had a daughter that loves them and treats them with respect. I am completely agaisnt them. I think they should be proud to have me as their daughter. And it amkes me feel bad when they tell me these things. I always run to my room and scruch up in a little ball in my bed and cry myself to sleep. I'm not like other fifteen year old girls that are giving their parents hard times. They are having unprotected sex, dating guys that aretoo old for them, smoking, doing drugs, drinking alcohol, going to wild parties, doing bad in school. And yelling at their parents. And you ahrdly ever hear them complaining. And here I am... The complete opposite of these girls. I get pretty good grades all A's and 1 or 2 B's, I never get in trouble. I've never had a boyfriend for god's sakes! And I love my parents alot, and I try to show it to them. Yet they wish I wasn't born.

I'm sure that's not the case. They're just stressed out because of the day to day stuff, and when you're living on your own and have kids of your own, you will figure it out. It's not easy raising kids. You worry about them 24/7. You teach them everything you know and send them out into the real world on a wing and a prayer. One false move and you can lose them. Along with that, you're stressed out because of work, keeping the house clean, paying the bills, etc. It's not that they don't love or appreciate you....it's because their minds are rolling 24/7 about other stuff. If you have brothers and sisters, that makes it hard too. Step back a little bit and look at what they're going through right now...step into their shoes a little bit. I'm not saying that they're right for complaining....they ARE very proud of you. Who in their right mind wouldn't be proud of you? You're doing all the right things. They just seem like they don't have time to tell you all the time, and teens need that reassurance. Just keep the faith and try to talk to them about your feelings or if it's easier write them a letter. You sound like a really great young adult - good luck to you!

Sounds like the reason they are so strict and have such high expectations for you is to keep you above the junk that you just described. They want better for your and are having a hard time telling you .... Some parents think guilt is a good tool .... some over use the tool....

Try to be more understanding of what they see each day, what they want to protect you from ... If they didn't love you they would just let you run wild .... they care.

Try to help out ... before you are asked... do little chores before it's expected and show them that the job was done right.... take on alittle more responsibility for the home ... you'll find this tell parents your ready to be trusted a bit more and can handle the trust well......

Give it a shot ... all you have to loose is alittle free time.

Good luck!

Yes. I don't see why not. my 12 y/o son has the iPod Touch and my 10 y/o son has the iPod Shuffle. My parents were concerned about the walkmans when i was a teen, the sony walkman had just come out w/the small earpieces that you see everywhere. parents were all nervous that it damaged your ears being so close to your ear canal and all. if you're playing music full blast i don't care if it's an iPod or a stereo it will damage your ears, but i doubt you'd do that constantly or you'd get a headache. if my kid saved up their money to get an iPod they'd have the right to buy one in my book. ....but then I'm a tattooed metal head kind of mom. lol

You sound like the ideal teenage daughter. I would be proud to have you as my daughter. There must be a reason why your parents feel this way and say the things they do to you.
I cannot imagine any parent being that cruel to their child. There has got to be more to this than what you are telling all of us.
What is the real story about what is going on at home? Are mom and dad having problems in their marriage? Are you an only child or are there other siblings?

Yes. I think your parents should spend the time to find out what kind of things you enjoy and what makes you happy. You sound like you are a very good person who is misunder stood. Maybe your parents are trying to make you into someone other than who you really are. Try talking to your parents about how you feel.

I think they have really high expectations of you. Maybe they don't really know what other girls of your age group are doing. But I have to say that it's really commendable that you have not fallen for the peer pressure and are mature enough to see right from wrong. Keep it up!
