yes it is a good way to loose weight and stay in better shape .
in order to loose weight though you have to burn more fuel then you are putting in calories that is .
so if you want to loose weight and use walking as the activity part of the method great but consider what you eat too and how much you eat.
also go look around on the net and find a chart that shows you about how much a person of your age and height should weigh
if your aim is too be less then what it says is good then you should talk to someone about that . don't over do the walking at start off slow and increase it bit by bit if you walk about 20 minutes a day steady walk that is your doing very well .
one more thing is that is that i have flat feet i did not know this
for a long time and i walked around with sore feet all the time thinking everyone has sore feet . later i found out they don't and got some help for that . i was told that i might not have had such a problem if i had always had good arch support that come in good shoes. look for that in a shoe don't buy the ones that feel flat on the inside . that its for me

I walk daily on the treadmill . I found walking outdoors was not effective. you need to know how fast you are walking, how many laps you are completing and the time involved. A treadmilll tell you everything. Place it in front of the TV to help pass the time. Try to watch exercise shows as you walk on the treadmill.. when others exercise it encourages you to exercise too. I was 135 lbs a year ago and with half an hour of walking at a fast pace (highest speed 6.3 kms per hour for about 10 mins), I have lost 5 lbs, but everyone says I look like I have lost lots more .I am very well toned now which gives the appearance that i have lost about 10 lbs. I always had heavy thighs and now they are really slim. I love taking my trousers to be altered as they keep getting looser and looser on me as the months pass. With walking most of the weight loss is on the legs. For my husband, he was unable to lose the weight on his tummy. If you swing your arms, you can tone down your arms drastically too. Good luck! BTW I don't diet at all.

Alot of the magazines that I've read say that walking is a very good way to reduce weight. And a few have even said that it is better then jogging. I used to walk with my kids when they were small and I definately could tell that it helped me feel better and keep the weight at bay.

Yes! certainly regular walking reduce the weight. Doctors also advise to cultivate regular habit of brisk walk either in the morning or evening.

You are right. Walking is best exercise to reduce weight. And it is minimum expensive item. once a day you can do this exercise for 40 to 50 minutes.
I tell you about Yoga. this is also good for health & weight. this is also your can do it.
