There is this girl in my class that asked me to dance with her and I turned down. I told her that I wasn't in the mood. At the time she asked me for a dance, she was in a relationship. It seems that she likes me.I might add that she recently told me that she broke up with her boyfriend. I am perplexed. What should I do? Should I make the move. Mind you I'm afraid of rejection

everybody gets rejected from time to time, it's not that big a deal.. ask her out! and in order not to get rejected, you have to give her a good reason why you didnt accept her dance invitation...

Being afraid of rejection is a very common denominator in the human being! You're not alone; it's just that some of us are more afraid than others of us.
But it's a risk you have to learn to take, and not take too personally. There can be many and varied reasons for a person to refuse someone a dating opportunity, and not all of them have to do with that person's looks! You turned down a dance invitation ( that was rejection of the girl, right!) but does she know your reason? You told her a lie; that you weren't in the mood.
What is she supposed to think?
You're best bet is to come clean, and tell her the truth, and find out if she would like to hang out with you some. if she says no, so what? There's others to choose from. Each one gives you some 'experience'.

Afraid of rejection? My friend rejection is a way of life. You will have to deal with it if you expect to succeed with women. In terms of your soon to be girlfriend (assuming you ask her out) you got a leg up man! The girl told you she broke up with the BF! Then she asks you to dance and you take 5! No. You go for it. She is waiting on you to respond. Just ask her out for lunch or something, something simple that both of you are comfortable with. If she rejects you, SO WHAT! If you don't get rejected how will you know the measure of who you are. Just make sure that when you ask her you have the fundamentals down. (IE. good hygiene, clean clothes, a nice smile, complementing her appropriately, a sense of humor etc.) and you ll be fine.

In life rejection is natural. If you are young, always remember one thing, there are other fish in the sea. Always make sure that she has broken up with her boyfriend so that things dont happen in the long run. Again, if you are afraid of rejection, That should not be your only worry. Try to see if she really wants to be with you and make sure she is single. Investigate it. Before long she can be your next girlfriend.

ask her out! shes probably afraid of rejection also. or maybe she broke up with him for you, b/cshe thought you might like her. You should have danced with her. I've been to dances where my bf didn't just dance with me. it doesn't mean he's cheating on me or something. when someone likes you, don't pass, b/c it might be the chance of your lifetime...

If you really like this girl then just go for it. If you must talk to one of her girl friends and see if they can see what is up. If you think she likes you more than likely she does. Be brave and only make a move if you really like this girl.
