With the all-wheel drive system, you are going to want to have all 4 tires have the same amount of tread. It depends on how worn the other three are. If you put one new tire on and the rest are worn more than half, the new tire be perceived as a traction slip by the all wheel drive system and may cause the transfer case to make noise while driving, such as a racheting type sound from attempting to lock due to the one new tire.

How worn are the other tires? Do you have limited slip differential (Posi-trac)? Is it on the front or back? These are all considerations. You will tear up a limited slip differential if the difference in the sizes are too great. (Hint to all, a low tire is just as effective at tearing up a limited slip differential.) If the tire is up front, the effect is less noticable to the running gear. It is designed to have tires running at different speeds because of the geometry of a turn.

you may be able to have the punctured tire repaired,if not its perfectly ok to change just one tire i would try to get one with a thread close to the design i had on the rest of the tires i have done this many times and i have worked in a service station for a long time so don't believe you have to change more than the one bad tire. you will find that all the ford people are half of horses and you can figure which half of the horse they are

It is ok to change one tire as long as it has same tread pattern. If new tire has different tread pattern and is rotated to the front of the veh. it may cause a pulling problem.

If the tyres are nearly new yes. But only get the same type of tyre.
Recommend to get 2 tyres though and put the new ones on the front, be alot safer .
Alternativly if your spare is new buy one new tyre to match it and put them on the front and use the left over tyre for your spare.

No you need to get two new tires, get two new ones for the rear, then get them all rotated and aligned
you DO NOT need 4 however, but you can not just do one, it is unsafe for you and all other drivers

I don't see why you can't get only one tire. Just be sure to buy the same kind of tire and be sure they are all inflated the same.

You can repair one while you save for others. Just make sure your tires are rotated and balanced when you get your new tire.
