How much gum and how big is the dog? When I was a kid, my 100LB Golden Retriever ate almost a whole pack of Wrigley's Spearmint Gum. He was fine, he just had silver flecked poop for a while after that.
If it was just a piece of gum, it will probably be ok. If it was a significant amount, I would definitely take him to the vet. It could cause a blockage in the intestines.
Best idea is to just call the vet's office and see what they say.

I don't think gum will hurt a dog. I know for a fact that a tube of neosporin won't hurt a dog. I would call the vet before taking the dog in to the vet. An emergency visit can be very costly and advice over the phone is usually free. I would call the vet. Good luck!

No, your dog will be okay. Shouldn't eat it, but it won't hurt him. If he starts acting odd, then you might consider calling your vet to tell him what happened to make sure there isn't anything you may need to worry about. Had this happen before and the dog was, and still is, fine.

No, my dog eats gum all the time, and nothing ever happens to her! You should only be worried if you see that your dog is not breathing like normal or if you notice that he is choking! how much does your dog Weigh!

If he managed to get it down, then he should be okay. Gum, believe it or not, does not take 7 years to digest, 2 days at most (Humans) If you notice any costipation, then consult a vet.

Does the dog seem to be having any trouble breathing or anything? If in this case they're anything like humans then it should be okay.
I've never had that happen to my dog before.

nicely, your subject isn't unique. many people have erred in offering their loved pets with a squeaky Jesus toy. Understandably, i might upload. regardless of the shown fact that, by using squeaky sound, many pets grow to be a tad over exited and eat the completed toy. I somewhat have discovered that my pets rejoice with the screaming Allah doll. jointly as they bite it merely as lots by using fact the Jesus toy, they hesitate to swallow it. according to danger they are frightened approximately getting blown up. by potential of how, do no longer waste your money on a sitting Buddha toy. For some reason none of my pets like it. don't comprehend why.

It really depends on the type of dog, but in most cases it should be fine. My old dog was a mutt and ate everything from rubber bands and wasps to hot choclate and marshmellows.
