Here is my life story:
when i was 5 i was molested and/or raped by my stepmom, my uncle, one of my sisters, and my father.
my other sister is in prison and is a drug addict.
my mom is a prescription drug addict.
I dated my first love on and off for 6 years, and recently, he cheated on me for 5 months straight.
my question is...is it wrong for me not to believe in god?
i dont believe that if a god existed, he would put an innocent child through what i went through when i was young.

Wow, I'm really sorry to hear all that. But is it wrong for you to reject God? No, it's not wrong at all. Maybe I don't consider it wrong because I don't believe in God to begin with, but I think one of the most legitimate reasons to NOT be religious is what you just said: Why does God allow those things to happen? I don't think he would either. There will probably be some theists who disagree with that line of thinking, but you've definitely got no complaints from me.

Of course it isn't! No one can tell you if it's right or wrong but yourself, and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. Religion is entirely personal, that the way it always should be.
I am not Christian, but I do believe in a divine being. I don't believe in things such as Satan, who was not even introduced into the bible until the middle ages. I do believe that things happen for a reason, and that these experiences help make us stronger people. I am truely sorry for what you experienced in your early years, but I cannot say that 'God' would have had any part in it. You were hurt as you were by humans, and by their fault. As mortal beings, it is our nature to have flaws. You were victim to unfortunate human flaw. If that effects your personal beliefs, then that is the way things are. Just keep your eyes and your mind open to the world out there, and you may find yourself eventually answering your own question.

First, let me say how horrible that must have been for you and how strong you must be to have survived it all. Perhaps, those prayers you said did more than you know. Anyway, the thing that you should understand is that God does not test anyone with evil things for any reason. He has allowed wickedness to exist so that we might choose NOT to have it be a part of our lives. He has not rescued us yet, but the time is coming very very soon. He will wipe away sickness, sorrow, pain and even death. I know it is hard to believe in someone invisible who does not seem to answer when you call, but soon you will be able to see more clearly the big picture.

It is not wrong to lose faith...which is why I am no longer Christian. I didnt go through anything as extreme as that but enough that I thought the same thing...if god loves me so much why is he allowing all of this?? don't i pray enough?? what did i do to deserve this?? And you know what?...I never found the answers, it was always "pray more and ask for help" and when that got me no where I went and found my faith elsewhere. Where there are answers. Take a good look inside of you and find what you truly believe and go with that, whatever it may be. Good luck to you in your search!

It wasn't God who did these things to you. People suffer for the sins of their parents. THis isn't God's will, it's just the way things are. If you were born into a family of loving kind God-fearing parents who raised you in the right way, you would reap the benefits of their right doing. You didn't deserve it. You didn't deserve to be molested by your relatives. They weren't doing God's will - they were doing the will of Satan. The question is, who are you going to follow - Satan or God? If you do not choose God, I assure you whatever evil was done to you, you will pass it on to others - perhaps your own children. Jesus Christ said " The Lord has anointed Me to bring good news (the Gospel) to the afflicted, to bind up the brokenhearted..." I know many people who come from where you come from, and they have found healing, love and restoration through faith in Jesus Christ by the power of God's Holy Spirit. Call upon Him, ask Him to save you, and heal your shattered life. He can put the broken pieces back together. I KNOW - He did it for me ! He can even give you power to forgive those who have hurt you the most. If you choose to forgive, you will know the Power of God.

Not if God doesn't exist. But if He dos exist then its wrong. If God created you as one of His creatures does that give Him the right as God to do with you what ever He wants? You mentioned the awful things your parents did so would it be unfair for God to give them a daughter like you going through what you did? Just maybe God is punishing them and yet will reward you. Is it not possible for God to bring you such joy out of such pain that you give thanks and praise to Him forever? After all your asking about Him? Who knows but He may make a work of grace in you that will make your parents envious. Jesus said something that really struck me, He said "who will love me most He who has been forgiven a lot or a little" and the answer was of course the one who has been forgiven a lot. Well to be forgiven a lot God must let one wander in sin as you have to be able to experience the depth of His mercy. However don't take it for granted. God is still an Almighty God who does as He pleases, not our servant or something. Only in Christ will you find these blessings by believing in Him and repenting of your sin. Just maybe if you seek Him you may find Him and know this grace.

I am so sorry that something so awful would happen to a small
child and certainly I can see why you would want to find someone
to blame for allowing it to happen. I can only offer you this hope
that the true and powerful creator of our Universe does know all things of reality and while it is so terrifying to see any good in this
horrific act, it happened for some reason. We never know when
something so horrible may only be a path to your heroic reason, for being here. Perhaps this thing happened to let you experience
first hand that pain so you could go on in life to help others in defending themselves from such atrocities or consoling them in
their pain. I know it hurts, but in forgiving and serving your
brothers and sisters in this reality you can with LOVE over
come this sadness and transcend it to splendor.

It is very hard to believe in God in that situation. Almost unbelievable what happened to you. First get rid of that guy. Second, get some therapy, and look for God. Things happened to me as well, but we are still here. We are not children with cancer, without hair, we are not in dialysis, we are not handicap ed... Sylvia Browne said in one of her books that we all choose our own "life theme" before we come to earth
Yours seams like "the victim theme" If it is true, or not, I found it comforting. I really wish you the best of luck. Try some prayer, though, might help. I wish I could help somehow.

Sorry to hear such a sad story. God is not the problem but He is the solution. They say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and you must be really strong now. You have much to offer to others that have been hurt the same way. Share you stories and get involved with other abuse victims. Maybe that is what God has been preparing you for.

Yes, it is wrong to not believe, but how can you believe if you don't have a little bit of understanding and a leap of faith. God exists and He doesn't send evil to innocent children. It is evil humans that produce evil, wicked thoughts and actions, not God. Your heart will at length compel you to search for God and find Him either here or hereafter, so why wait. Searching is part of the human experience. It is part of the plan that lifts humanity up and out of itself.
