If you want to experience LA, I wouldn't waste time going to Universal Studios or Disneyland. I would waste my time going to the REAL tourist attractions that make up LA - like the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Santa Monica Pier, and Beverly Hills/Rodeo Drive. The Farmer's Market is also fun, as is a drive up the PCH to Malibu & Zuma Beach. It's also fun to hit the Sunset Strip at night - though it's usually really crowded and the drinks are expensive. There's a Hustler store on the strip that's a real trip - and Venice beach is a lot of fun to people-watch! have fun!

Day One:
If you're able to drive, rent a car on the first day.
Head toward downtown LA the consumer capital where you can buy almost anything from wigs, perfumes, knock off designer wallets to toys to clothing to $$$ Rolex watches
Rub elbows with European buyers side by side to undocumented workers in one of the bustling shopping alleys
Time: 3-4 hours
For lunch, go to one of the ethic neighborhoods such as Chinatown (Hop Louie's is a good choice), sushi at Little Tokyo in downtown LA, hot tofu soup and cook-at-your-table BBQs in Koreatown.
Time: 1-2 hours
Santa Monica-has a pier and amusement center and eateries.
Venice Beach-for some people watching and get a feel for the wackier people around LA
Marina Del Rey-is not exactly a beach but the atmosphere is nice, have a drink next to the marina
Redondo Beach-nice to stroll about.
Time: 2-3 hours
After lunch, drive down the Pacific Coast Highway and enjoy the views.
Day 2:
Go to Universal Studios. You can spend an entire day here. Since the place is based on a hilly area, you're going to be tired from all the walking up and down. At around 4 PM, get out and explore Citiwalk, right next to Universal Studios.
After that, you can drive down from Universal City to Hollywood and look at Grauman's Chinese theater and walk along the stars on the pavement. It's very tacky, but you can't really say that you've been to LA without doing the tourist thing.

To get a good feel for Los Angeles in only two days, take a nice drive on Sunset Boulevard from Hollywood out to the Pacific Ocean. Take your time to see the sights along the way, wander around, and try to get to the sea by sunset. Go eat somewhere near the Santa Monica pier. Maybe even check out Venice Beach a bit to the south from that. Avoid everything south of Santa Monica Freeway on your return.

1) Disneyland and California Adventure-40 minutes from downtown.
2) Venice Beach-20 minutes from downtown.
3) Universal Studios-20 minutes from downtown..
4) Magic Mountain-one hour from downtown.
5) Sea World San Diego-2 to 21/2 hours from downtown.
6) Queen Mary-30 minutes from downtown.
7) A number of museums.
A car is mandatory in LA, unless you are booking tours to Hollywood Blvd, Stars Homes, and or anythings else on Buses.
Bring a coat, but it will probably be sunny and comfortable. LA is very laid back. Broadway is the main street, but nowadays the language of the street is as much Spanish as English. If you mind your own business you should be OK. Two days in LA is not going to give you very much time to see more than one or two places.

EDIT: scythian1 has the best suggestion. gtoacp also has the right idea.

Without more info about what you like, it is impossible to answer your question. First off, do you mean just Los Angeles? Or the entire area including Long Beach and Anaheim? I'd certainly consider Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm. Venice Beach is really different. The traffic on the freeways in LA can be a nightmare, so be prepared.

i visit USC yet i'm initially from Minneapolis. L.A. is amazingly busy. Bumper-to-bumper site visitors everywhere. you progression like a foot each and every 5min. Being from white Minnesota each and all of the blended cultures and races grew to become right into a sprint distinctive( i in my opinion enjoyed it that way). inspect Westwood Village if your going to UCLA. properties, gasoline, even commonplace needs are greater high priced. inspect Ketchup. super foodstuff, candy environment, super place to relax. Hollywood isn't all this is made as much as be yet continues to be well worth traveling. Take a excursion bus by way of Bel Air and Beverly Hills your first time there.and then hit sunset side highway for previous due-nighttime entertainment. some people hate it. some like it. i'm in my opinion staying right here after college in Santa Monica. verify that place out

Everybody said it all ,so go check it all out and have a nice time. I
lived there for 28 years and I loved every moment of it. I had to move away for personal reason but I still go visit from time to time.
