It depends on how well it has been taken care of. If the current owner has kept the oil changed and performed all the routine maintenance it should be OK if the price is right. Pull out the dipstick and wipe it off. If there is a brown stain (varnish) I would be a little Leary as that would tell me that the oil has not been changed as often as it should have been. Also remove the cap where you add oil and look at the inside of the cap. Is it dry? If it has what looks like water condensed on the inside that would be a bad sign. How about the tires. Are they in good shape or will they have to be replaced right away? If so that just adds to the cost. Also ask if the vehicle has ever been in a wreck or flooded or anything like that. Legally they have to disclose information like that. Good luck.

no most cars today can last for more than 200k miles. i have a 2000 4 runner that has 180k and never any problem. also look to see how much a new engine or trans would cost because this would be the biggest things you'd have to replace. replacing engine or trans will cost about 2-3k. in the long run you'll save by buying used cars. go to Dave Ramsy's web

Heck no. I'm not even a big Toyota fa, but that RAV 4 will easily top 200,000 with only minor maintenance.

Not at all. On the record it's a bit high but it's a Toyota. Our Camry has over 122,000 miles on it and it's a 2000. We've never had anything repaired. I doubt you'll have any problems for many years.

If the miles are actual and the vehicle has a good maintenance record(oil/filterchanges regularly), it should be an excellent buy. My little sister had one that she put 300,000 miles on before she had any major problems. However, she did keep it maintained religiously.

I don't think so. My Toyota I had, had 63,000 when I bought it and had 187,000 miles when I traded it in and was still running like a champ. Just take it for a test drive to the nearest mechanic and have them look at everything that you may have over looked.

Not at all. It's just beginning to break in. Keep the oil changed every 3000 and you'll more than likely get 200,000 miles plus out of it.

Ask for the maintenance records.
Find out what kind of driver(s) it has had if you can.
All in all,Toyota makes a good product.
If everything else checks out,go for it
