most people are afraid of falling in love with their best friend because they are afraid of losing that friendship if the romantic relationship doesn't work.

I have no idea.
Some people are afraid of losing that friendship.
But they don't know that a great friendship is the way to a great love.
My boyfriend and I were really good friends before we started going out. It's great knowing the person before you go out with them. Our friendship is the base of our relationship.
Falling in love with your best friend is a great thing, I think. : }
I wouldn't want to fall in love with anyone else.

Best friends are the best type of life mates, but you get worried that you will ruin the friendship if you take it to a romantic level. It's always a risk. But, I'd go for it.

Well, I already love my best friends, and the man I married IS my best friend.
To answer you question though in a situation I think you are meaning, no. I trust myself to know when I'm getting too close.

Well you don't want to ruin the friendship if they don't feel the same about you. And you don't want for an awkward tension to rise either.
