I understand how hard this can be. I have 4 kids and went through this with each one. This worked for me, very slowly begin to dilute the juice with water. Every few days add less juice and more water. Soon he'll be drinking just water at night or may stop asking for the cup at bedtime all together. My kids are now 27, 25, 22, and 9. 2 of my older kids still like to go to bed with a glass of water on the bedside table because they get thirsty during the night.

I had the same issue. I gave mostly water and little juice. If I tried anything else like water or milk she cried for ever. I finally just let her cry a few nights, not easy I know. Then I would tell her no one else has a cup in bed and she can't have one either. She has 2 older siblings, if you have older children that might help. If not try just letting him cry it out. Good luck, I feel your pain Ohh yeah the other thing I did was not fill the cup so full at first at the same time I cut back the juice and added more water.

Try gradually cutting down the concentration of juice in the cup, every time add less juice and more water, you could also try to use cordial or a natural juice so that it's not as sugarie.

You have to wean him off of it. First pour about 3/4 full of juice and 1/4 full of water. let him have that for the night. Then, the next night pour 1/2 full of juice and 1/2 full of water and let him have that for the night. The next night 1/4 full of juice and 3/4 full of water. let him have that for the night. The next night fill it all with water. He will either not want it anymore, or he will drink water, which is better for him anyway-less sugar and whatnot. I hoped I helped!

Could you possibly put mostly water with just a little juice to give it the tase of juice? That's what I do with my 3 & 4 year old all the time. Good luck!

Try the watering down of the liquid I used to babysit for my cousin who couldnt sleep without her sippie cup. You have to ween them off of it. What I did was when I put her to sleep Id fill it 3/4 of the way full, then gradually add less of the juice and more of the water It works trust me

Putting a baby to bed with milk or juice is really really bad for their teeth. :-( It can cause baby bottle tooth decay. If he needs a bottle, give him water. try by slowly watering down his juice, more and more until it is just plain water. I hope that helps. Good luck!

Oh wow, sometimes children get used to having a bottle or a cup in their mouth when they're sleepy. Try to cut the juice in half don't give ur child as much as u used to. Let this be a new thing for him to get used to so that way he won't complain as much will get adapted to it .

DON'T FEEL BAD!.
"cruel to be kind" his teeth will thank you for it later.
You will feel much worse if he has trouble with his teeth later on, so just give him water and be persistent, show him who's the boss!
A couple of interrupted nights is a lot better than tooth decay!

i suggest weaning him off of it. going cold turkey with anything is hard, even for adults.
slowly water it down till eventually it is just water. limit him to one cup before bed and then none at night if he wakes up.
if that doesn't work, cold turkey it is!
