No, Diet Coke is not fattening. It has zero calories, so can not cause any weight gain. 1 Coke a day should not hurt you.
Some people are concerned that the artificial sweetener may not be good for you, however, the sugar in the regular Coke (in any soda pop) is definitely bad for your teeth.

Diet Coke on it's own is not fattening, although some studies suggest that eating anything that "tastes" sweet will still release insulin in preparaton of a sugar load.
Insulin is the "fat" hormone. This is why low carb diets are so successful because they greatly reduce insulin levels.
Or, it could be fattening if someone picks another high calorie food to compensate for the 0 calorie soda.

Diet coke has very little energy in it. However if ur friend is drinking that much coke a day then she is probably eating & drinking a lot of other foods which have a higher energy content. That much coke (diet or otherwise) isnt good for anyone. U should try to convince her to drink a glass of water for every glass of coke (or other drinks) that she consumes. That way she will not only drink less coke but also the water will help flush her kidneys etc.

Sorry-but diet coke DOES NOT contain carbohydrates. Some studies have indicated that people who drink diet coke tend to weigh more, and it's for several reasons.
Diet cokes contain artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols to give them taste. These things can, in some people, cause the same insulin reaction as regular sugar. Which means that it causes an excess of insulin to be produced when your body THINKS it got something sweet to digest, and when this "sugar rush" ends, we crave food. This factor alone is no worse than the effect of drinking a regular coke, because real sweets do the same thing to a greater extent.
The primary reason for this study's findings is that people who drink diet colas often have the mentality that "hey, I saved calories there, so I can have _____". They tend to consume more calories. Bottom Line: don't eat more calories, you will not gain weight.
There is no evil chemical in a diet drink that will make you gain weight. If you continue to eat normally, you should lose weight because of a lesser calorie intake. The downside is that ANY soda contains caffiene and sodium, which will not make you FAT, but will make you retain water. An excess of soda or salty intake than what your body is used to may make the scale fluctuate.

If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular "fad" diets out there. Go here https://tinyurl.im/aHLtt
The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it's just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it's a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true

Diet coke is not fattening but people who drink diet drinks usually eat more of other foods taking in more total calories than their body needs. If you watch what you eat calorie wise and drink diet coke it will not make you gain weight but if you drink it and don't worry about what other calories you take in you could wind up putting on weight without realizing it.

No. Zero calories is not fattening. However, I don't think it's necessarily good for you just because it's diet. The chemicals, preservatives, and artificial sweeteners are probably worse for you than sugar. Sugar is at least natural... But yes, fattening if you don't burn it off with exercise and let it convert into fat.

It depends on what else you are consuming throught the day and how much exercixe you are getting.
If you eat healthy and exercise daily then you should not put weight on from drinking one can of diet coke a day although you need to consider what that would do to your teeth.
