how are you supposed to drink absinthe?

i know you should do something with sugar but not sure what any clues?

How to Drink Absinthe

1. Traditional Method

Pour a shot of Absinthe into a glass
Place an Absinthe spoon on the glass and set a sugar cube on the spoon





Slowly drip four to six parts of iced water onto the sugar melting the sugar into the absinthe





Stir and drink

2. Czech Method:

Pour a shot of Absinthe into a glass
Dip a teaspoon of sugar in the absinthe so that it absorbs it
Set the sugar cube on an Absinthe spoon and place it on the glass





Set the sugar cube on fire and allow all the caramelized sugar to flow into the glass.
Pour the water into the glass, stir and enjoy!

The absinthe spoon is a special slotted teaspoon that allows the melted sugar to run through it.

Drip ice cold water into the absinthe until it louches, 3:1 to 5:1 water to absinthe. If you want to sweeten it, drip the water over a sugar cube. Don't burn your sugar or your absinthe, it just makes it taste bad.

Now, if your absinthe doesn't louche, do whatever you want, it's not absinthe but a type of bitters.

i just drink it by itself in a shot glass,ive never had it with anything
