It would be a really cruel thing to do even though MY WHOLE family knows I don't want ANYTHING to do with the mormon church..... Don't want anything to do with them while I am alive what makes them think i would want anything to do with them when I am dead....

They are called Baptism's for the Dead. And I agree. The Jews sued the Mormons for doing it to Holocaust victims and won yet later it was proved the the Mormons were still doing it. I hope they get sued again.
It is just another way of theirs to try to earn their salvation. I am not so worried as I am already Baptized. I just find it arrogant.

If you don't believe that Mormonism is true, then what does it matter if they do baptize someone in your behalf one day? And, if it is true, you still have the choice to accept it or turn it down. So, you see, you can't possibly have anything to do with the Mormons unless you really want to.
And besides, your name isn't on any "list" right now, because you're still alive, right? The only names that are submitted to the temple for proxy baptisms are the names of those deceased who are related to the Mormon submitting the names (through their genealogy). Mormons believe that this is how the hearts of the fathers will be turned to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers (Malachi 4:6).

Contact the church's department of records--or something that sounds like what you need. The only problem is you'll end up on another list-- I was mormon for 18 years and left the church. I had my records removed (twice, mind you, because they lied the 1st time and didn't remove them). It makes me really angry now because I know I'm still on some list of theirs as a "non-member." Just have your wishes known to your family members. I believe your name would only end up on the list if they put it there. Put it in your will if you need to do so.

There is no way to take your name off of the list. The only way you can possibly prevent them from baptizing-by-proxy is by stating it in a legal document, and those can be ignored if someone (brother, daughter, father, mother, sister, son) say that you came to them in a dream and requested baptism.

Here is the deal. When you die and you're there with God and he explains how everything works to you... if someone has chosen to be baptized on your behalf, you can either choose to accept it or deny it. But don't you think you should wait until you've heard the truth about life from God directly?

There is no 'official' list of any kind. People only are supposed to work with their own relatives. Have a happy day.

OK. I took you off. Enjoy the telestial kingdom.
But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?

Do you know where the Mormons found their "Book of the Mormons".
Ask a member, and you will not believe your ears. Their leader was plowing his field and found the book. In thousands of years it just sat there and didn't rot or decay.
