check out Chako.com and a variety of other site devoted to the stopping of BSL's. just do a google search.
It is so sad the ignorance runs rampant. I agree that there is a problem but I think the due to the wonderful nature of these dogs that they are the catalyst for what has happened to other dogs and why our SPCA's are so full. Bad breeding and owner ship.
There are other breeds far more aggressive then any Pit would ever be, such as Akitas, infact the breed standard mentions that they are very dog aggressive. not so in the Pit standard. Pits were not breed for people aggression even Pit fighters will tell you that. It is the nature that they will do anything you ask and with 100% dedication that got them where they are. Bad people saw this, breed aggressive dogs, sold them and whammo. billy bad butt down the street saw it, wanted his own to out do his neighbor and then it snow balled from there all over the country.
I own a Pit, He is part of my family and I trust him completely , however, he came from a good line, properly raised and neutered. I do not condone manditory spay and neuter but I think that there needs to be some sort of happy medium that should apply to all dog breeds.
Just my thoughts.

Animal Control: Phone (915) 842-1000 or 842-1001, or 842-1002
This is the phone # for Animal Control in El Paso. I would think that they should be able to tell you if Pit Bulls are legal in their city.

So far they are legal in El Paso, but the way you ask makes me wonder if they are for pets, or for fighting. Pit bull dogs are very unpredicable, however, they can be loving any very loyal, but it all depends on how they are raised and how much time is devoted to their upbringing. And for the most part are devoted to the ones it is raised with. And raised properly, they can be great pets.

That is a question that varies from city to city, I wud check with the local authorities, or the mayors office...Pit Bulls however I might add,......a gtrowing chance of your getting suit for any number of things. I have no thots one way or the other, but having DOG TIED UP OR PENNED, IS NO KINDA LIFE FOR ANYONE MAN OR BEAST

The list of criteria seems absolutely ridiculous. What if the dog just happens to be a poor representation of a different breed? What if the dog just wasn't a top quality Staffy? What if it was a mix that just happened to fit the criteria? I'm not sure about the print of the law in the UK though... Stupid law to begin with... If you do plan to move to the U.S., I know my state's working on a law BANNING BSL. I hope they pass it. I don't want my dogs taken away because somebody thinks they're too big or they "look like babykillers". ;) Good luck.

Of course they are...as well as c0ck fighting and rodeos. There is no end to the fighting animals they allow there. It's the local culture, what with being so close to mexico and all.

Hello. One way to find out is to call your local Humane Society. If they don't know, they will be able to connect you to who can help you.

Good luck.
