My doctor diagnosed me with IBS with constipation and prescribed Zelnorm. Since taking the drug, I do go to the bathroom, but I still am having problems with discomfort. I especially start to feel uncomfortable when I leave my house. I would like to know what in the world can I do to make my body be the way it was before IBS so that I can do the things I used to do without any discomfort.

I have IBS. It might be that the Zelnorm may not help you. Ask your doctor to run some blood work to see if quite possibly you might be allergic to wheat (gluten). I had the problem of constipation, diarhea, abdominal pain etc. My doctor decided to run some blood work, and it came back that I was allergic to gluten or wheat. Your digestive system may be having the same difficulty just like mine is.

Peppermint plus by Enzymatic Therapy is often very helpful. Probiotics are also very good.

ZELNORM IS NOT FOR EVERYONE AND CAN ACTUALLY MAKE IT WORSE. GET ON A GOOD FIBER DAILY AND WALK 30 MINUTES DAILY AND NO SPICES.i HAVE IT AND BELEIVE IT OR NOT THIS WORKS FOR ME AND i ALSO TAKE PREVICID EVERY DAY AND DRINK LOTS OF WATER AND EAT LOTS OF YOGART WITH THE LIVE BACTERIA DAILY.iT WORKS

first off stop taking zelnorm, that leads to a stomache disease called gastrioparysis..not sure on spelling.. it messes ur stomach up,and stops food from digesting right,and eventually you'll have to have gullbladder taken out.

Mabey it might help changing you eating habbits.
Eat more fiber and cheese and for the time being less fruit although it is good for you.

you can't get rid of It you just have to learn how to control it i have it and take prevacid everyday, stress is really bad so you have to learn not to let things bother you!!!!!!!! and also you have to watch what you eat no spicy, greasy food!!!
