I think people need to understand that being overweight is not optimal for health in the same way that being too skinny or anorexic is very unhealthy. I have to agree that the majority of people who are overweight are like that because they eat too much and they do have the power to change their lifestyle if they wish. Only a minority of overweight or obese people are in the terrible position of being medically disadvantaged. I dont see anything wrong with using the word fat (as one answerer mentioned above). If you are fat you are fat, if you are thin you are thin. Why are some people so defensive about telling it like it is?
I like to think of optimal health rather than 'celebrating' fatness or thinness. People have the right to be what they want. But the person who posted this question also has the right to their opinion, whether the rest of you agree with it or not. You should not attack someone for that

PEOPLE LIKE YOU MAKE ME SICK!!! I am skinny too but I would NEVER talk like you!!!! Most big people have tried to lose the weight but can't. Some people have health issues that require meds that make them gain weight no matter what they do!!!!!
We all have to develop different coping methods for dealing with the positives and negatives of our own physical makeup. Based on psychological research people do assess and judge others physically very quickly, sometimes in seconds. Which you obviously do.
So next time you see someone over weight don't assume that they are lazy slobs who don't care. Believe me they care and the way you look at them makes them feel worse!!!! Watch PHAT GIRLS and then come back and say this in a real womans FACE not on here. Yeah say this on the street and see how people respond!!!!
Just remember this:
Big women will always have bigger hopes and dreams and much bigger boobs than You And they don't have to pay or get cut to have them!!!

Punishing people (by way of taxes) for his or her habit or conduct is approximately as anti democratic as you will get. that's an erosion of civil rights in the slightest degree perplexing experience. you're able to think of this is super till something you delight in is banned or taxed. If each and all of the failings you stated have been so risky to public protection than they could be thoroughly outlawed. somewhat we've rule by ability of the minority, the place small communities with loud voices impose their perspectives on the interior reach & federal point, segregating people who's habit they oppose. Is that a loose united states of america?

You sound "slim' and totally heartless. You need some protein.Obesity is almost always caused by EMOTIONAL problems.People eat b/c of low self-esteem,family problems, emotional problems.Although they aren't blameless in their overeating ,I think it's just another form of addiction.Instead of drugs they pick food.As far as waving a wand, anyone with any sense knows that being "skinny" is NO guarantee for happiness.Have you SEEN Hollywood?

i hate people like you. I have a medical condition which prevents me from losing weight. It is literally impossible for me to lose weight. Do you think that I like being this big? I haev been this big for about 3 years now and I still can't stand to look at myself everyday. It is people like you who makes us "rolly and fat". Society today is already putting pressure on us to lose weight. Have a little compassion for us. Being overweight is like a disease. Would you make fun of your best friend if she had heart disease? You have an incurable disease, that is one in which your heart is stone.

Well cupcake, I am a fatty! I am healthy, I am happy and I am successful, so what the heck is your point? Perhaps you are not so healthy in the head area and have a need to control others that are different from you? Hmmmm,, perhaps. I do wish you well, so have a nice life,, I know I will.

Ask yourself why you are so concerned about what other people do with their bodies. Are you afraid of becoming fat one day?
As a person who has a problem gaining weight, let me tell you that being super thin is NOT an optimum way to be. I would very much prefer a few curves myself....

I have to agree with you on the fact that fat people do not look good and have a high chance of some sort of fatal illness! But i do love a girl with a LITTLE bit of meat on her!

fatty look is certainly un healthy , some heriditory issues also part of it, slim and trim is always nice , but it does nto mean stout is unhealthy , it depends what you can afford to loose yoru weight !! exercise and dieting,
well balanced body is always good for long living both mentaly and or physically
it is not required to over burden yourself being over weight, as this could cause hypertension
