My child knows (most of the time) when its time to go. I just need help with getting comfortable in the bathroom on the toilet. The child will sit for a few minutes but then hops up and wants a pull-up on to do whatever needs to be done be it number 1 or 2. Can anyone help please. I know it depends on wether the child is ready but is there a way to interest them in trying? I had a family member recommend stickers or favorite food or snack to entice them in sitting but is there anything else?

A quick coaching video "Potty Potty" with ebook used to be a huge support. We borrowed it from the library. There is a boy and a lady variation. Our four-a million/two 12 months ancient grand-daughter stayed with us 5 days. She wore just a blouse and lightweight coaching pants. NO diapers. She had to be equipped to experience the wetness whilst she peed. She first needed to recover from the worry of sitting at the potty. She began her day by way of seeing the video. We located her at the potty earlier than and in spite of everything meal and snack occasions. Whether or no longer she used to be victorious at peeing within the potty, she regarded the video once more. If victorious, there used to be tons of compliment and rejoicing and making a song in conjunction with the film. If unsuccessful we waited 20-half-hour and had her take a look at once more within the potty. While sitting at the potty we sang the "Potty Potty" track. We additionally made /ssssss/ sounds to instruct her to pee. If she rainy her pants, she sat at the potty once more to take a look at to conclude up. Give her tons of reassurance that she make it a different time. We could exhibit the video once more. We attempted to ensure she received adequate fluids and once more, timed going to the potty hence so she could companion the urge with the potty. By the top of 5 days, she peed within the potty approximately seventy five% of the time.

Just to let you know, my niece was almost 9 when she suddenly decided to potty train herself. We had tried & tried & they tried in school as well, but she wouldn't. Then, suddenly, when everyone was distracted by a family tragidy, she potty trained herself. Except she still has trouble in the evening.

Well considereing most of us do not have autistic children I would not trust our opinion, as it is without expereince and knowledge. If I were in yuor situation I would look into finding someone who specializes in autism so you can be truly helped. Potty training can be a nightmare in itself so find someone who really knows what to do!
