will topical steriods help/cure back acne

Steroids can certainly help reduce inflammation, and since the redness of acne is usually caused by irritation and inflammation, I suppose it could help. However, topical steroids should be used sparingly - they have a tendency to "thin" out your skin. You should talk to your doctor before using any type of medication.

Steroid creams may aggravate acne since bacteria are involved. Prescription For Natural Cures (Balch & Stengler) lists: Vitex; Essential Fatty Acids; zinc; Burdock root; Tea Tree oil; vitamin A; and homeopathy as helpful.
The reference also has good info and advice on diet and other possible helpful remedies. Good luck!

Dont try cortisone; it will thin your skin and must be used sparingly and only when its really needed.
