an E1 with more than 4 months of service but less than 2 years will bring home $1301.40/month in base pay.

Allowances such as BAH and Family sep are tax free. Federal and social security taxes are taken out, as well as state taxes if your HOR taxes income.

Base pay only, I'd say somewhere in the $450/every two weeks range. BAH and any other pays and allowances will also be divvied up into 2 payments.

Well the 35% rule would work cept for one thing, depends on the state of residence also. Some states do not tax people in the military,so the only taxes would be federal tax.

Easier to tell you an estimate if you said how much money you will actually earn per year. Whatever you earn .. say .. $25,000 a year. Take 35% away from your yearly amount and that is close to what you will bring home on a annual basis .. then divide that number by 12 (months) .. and you will know how much you will take home (after taxes) per month. Good Luck !
