Hi there. The first thing I thought of when I read your question was, why do you want a Rottie or Boxer? I hope it's for love and companionship. Anyway, not having enought money to purchase one isn't really the problem. What you do need however is enough money for the pup/dog's up-keep. You know shot's, vet visits, food, toys, crate/kennel, etc. Also, let me ask you have you done all of your research on these two breeds? I would hate for you to have put all of your resources into the pup/dog only to find that it was not the right breed for you.
The reason I am saying this stuff to you is to prevent you from any lose or heartache.
Why not take your time, save your money, and keep a watch on breeders in your area. Maybe they can let you know when they plan a breeding in the future when you will have enough money. Also, when you get your pup from the breeder, listen when they talk to you about their dogs, and see if at any time they tell you that if should anything happen when you can no longer keep the dog to bring it back to them. This is the sign of a caring breeder.
Good luck and take your time in your decision.

Cannot shed a lot(barely sheds) -single coated dog, look at the toy breeds, bichons and poodles Does not need daily walks -all dogs need daily walks, sorry! does not weigh more than 60 pounds -Same as for the first answer Is not big -again same as first is loyal and intelligent -all dogs are loyal to some degree and same with intelligence Gets along with other animals and people -socialize the dog well and you should not have a problem is very friendly but is also alert -read the breed standards of those you are interested and see what matches is not aggressive -socialize and train the dog well and buy from a good breeder, you should not hae any problem. But I agree you don't need a dog. Maybe a fish.

Ok, a pure bred rottie or boxer is probably around $500 from a breeder. You could try looking at different rescue groups/shelters. You'd be suprised at how many pure bred dogs you can find there. Also, keep in mind additional expenses for vaccinations, spaying/neutering, possible illnesses/injuries. If you can't afford these then you probably need to wait a little while before getting any kind of dog. I know it sucks but it'll be even worse if you've got a sick dog/puppy on your hands and can't afford treatment.

Go to your local shelter. They are always willing to give an owner a pet. Also if you go to the shelter you can shop around. Choose the dog that best fits you. I like you have always wanted a rottie they are loyal dogs that are big and protective but when I went to the shelter I found Whiskey he is a Black lab beagle german shepard rottie mix. 50% of him is the lab/beagle. Also you have to be financially stable to take care of a puppy they don't make money so don't expect anything to be cheap. Also you have to have time to take of them too. They will not take them selves outside nor will they feed themselves either. Research online about taking care of dogs before you make the final decision. Puppies are like children they are no different

I know this sounds kinda cliche', but check your local Humane Society or animal shelter. They sell dogs for like $50 to $100. I got my dog from there. She's great.

go to your local shelter!! most have lots of purebred puppies there. I got my doggie as a 1 month old puppy there. it's a shiba mix and people often stop me and ask what breed it is! seriously. if you don't see puppies, ask the staff there, as they sometimes don't show a lot of puppies since then ppl will only want puppies.

birthday or holiday you can suggest it as a present but its hard to find a free puppy that is full blooded. i got one as the woman did not sell it and wanted to go on vaccation. but it is a hand full and she crated it too much and it has emotional problems. so beware!
