I know, it's a very weird nervous habit that I've had for about 5 years. I suddenly noticed within the last year that my hair is thinning. Have I done this to myself, or is it just a coincidence because I'm in my mid-thirties? If I have damaged the hair follicles, can they be revived if I stop the scratching and take good care of my scalp?

yep...that scratching is def. the culprit...i have the same problem including trichotilomania...which is basically another nervous condition that makes you pull your hair out...you can def. try to keep your hair well tended...don't let it get too dead cause that will make it fall out more...trim often and hot oil treatments may stimulate some growth...if all else fails, rogaine...its awesome and it works!! only thing is, you have to use it continuously so that the hair that was grown as a result of it won't fall back out...talk to a doctor about it to get the best answer, but these are some tricks i've used to try and control my hairloss...

i does not imagine so. perhaps he replaced into going to be bald (or balding) besides and as a results of his shaving did not observe until eventually he tried to augment hair again after all those years. Being a lady, i can inform you that shaving leg hair doesn't impact it growing decrease back purely as thick...and we've a tendency to do it from our early youthful people until eventually we are senior voters. i do not see why head hair might want to be diverse with re: to shaving...

yes, when you are constantly digging or scratching in the same spot you can damage your scalp, the same with your skin.
