Get the hell off the computer and either call 911 or take them to the ER yourself.
Yeesh! People take their kids to the ER for a case of sniffles then can't figure out where to go for help for an actual injury.

Comfort him or her? Presumably if you know this then your friend has been to see a doctor who has provided the best care possible.
If he or she *hasn't* been to a doctor, then you should ensure that your friend sees a doctor as soon as possible.
