It really depends on the individual. One should not shave one's pubic hair just for someone else. You should only shave (or remove through other methods like laser hair removal, electrolysis, waxing, sugaring, etc.) your pubic hair if YOU like it. Otherwise you'll be miserable.
From an aesthetic standpoint, if you are hairy everywhere else and shave your pubic hair you might look kind of funny, try "feathering" it by fading the shave in if you are hairy elsewhere.

Men and women should trim.
When you shave it all off, its like you're twelve again.
