I know she's only 4 months old, but I've seen pictures of other huskies of the same age with much thicker coat. I give her brewer's yeast (for coat and skin) but it has minimal effect.

There are many bloodlines of Siberian Huskies. You may have a dog that comes from more "racing" bloodlines than "show" bloodlines.

The racing dogs have been bred to not have such a plush coat because they would overheat. The plush coat also requires more care, something that is hard to do while racing. Their coats are still warm enough for almost anything winter can toss at them though.

The show dogs are what most people think of when they think of Siberians. A lot of work goes into maintaining that plush coat--brushing, bathing, brushing...

Backyard bred Sibes could be anywhere between. There is also a "wooly" type, but they aren't really encouraged anywhere and that doesn't sound like what you have at all.

She may have a puppy coat. Her coat could have a completely different texture and density after she blows her coat a couple times.

When your dog gets it's thick coat it will be around the age of 2 or 3. You should buy dog grooming supplies and get the deshedder because the de shedder takes away the puppy coat underneath and the puppy coat prevents your dog to get the fluffy coat that looks beautiful!

your dog is still young and the coat may improove as he matures. daily brushing helps and the brewers yeast is good. there is also a liquid for skin and fir that the vet may have. you have to be very persistant with what u use and also check the brand of food ingrediants in your dog food. make sure it isnt all dyes and fillers which are not good for the coat. they need good food for a good coat. u get whAT YOU PAY FOR.

it depends on the type of husky she is. not all husky have fluffy, big, thick fur. one reason is she's still young, and it'll probably grow more as she becomes older. find out if her parents are both huskies, cause if one of them is not then it might change the way the fur is. there's plenty of different type of huskies out there, and the husky in the picture might not be the same as your own husky
