You're only 14? Is the tattoo still gonna be cool when you're 65? I would wait at least four years.

Well, I am only a year older than you, but not very girly. Anyway, I am an artist myself, a tattoo fanatic, and you first of all need to know that getting a tattoo in your early teen years isn't the best idea. Our minds aren't fully developed, and there could be regrets. But, if you don't care, you first of all need to know how cliched lower back tattoos are. You really want something so common???? If you do, here are some ideas: You could get really colorful, detailed butterfly in the middle of your lower back, and then have a swirly design that is colorful coming off the sides. Or maybe a blue breeze of swirls like wind coming off the sides. Maybe some twinkles in the breeze. You could also have some cherry blossoms floating off the sides.
If you decided not to go with a common area for a tattoo, butterflies still work. A butterfly with an elaborate design in the wings would be nice. Maybe a butterfly fluttering in the breeze with some cherry blossoms floating around it. Put a nice glow around it.....
Anyway, if these ideas aren't working for you, tattoos have to match your personality. You have to find a design or symbol that represents you or an element of your personality. You don't want any regrets, though.....tattoos are serious. They don't come off. And you don't want a tattoo that you regret, you don't want to pay for tattoo removal.

I got my tattoo on my 20th birthday. I had been looking at the design since I was 15. After 5 years of looking at it, I knew it was right. Don't go getting a tattoo so young. Find your design, then wait a couple of years. Look at it every day, then decide if it's worth getting into your skin. You should at least wait until you're 18. And remember, you might not always be a girly girl. I used to be one too, but now, not so much. Just be sure.

Tattoo on the lower back? might as well be a target!! lol.

If you are thinking of getting a tattoo at such a young age I can't help you figure out what you should get. But when you find it... it should mean something to you. How stupid will you look when someone asks you "What does it mean?" and all you have to say is "uhh... I liked it". When you find what you want I suggest you put it up somewhere that you will see it every day. And in a few months you still absolutely love it. Get it. You can't just like it! You have to LOVE IT! It is going to be on your body for the rest of your life... and it is apart of you.

First of all, it's illegal to get a tattoo at 14 years old. If you found someone to do it, then I would run because there is a good chance that it will be done in their dirty basement with dirty needles. Second, as someone with 15 tattoos myself I can honestly suggest waiting another 10 years before getting one. I didn't get my first till I was 25 and I don't regret one of them. I have met too many people that got tattooed at a young age and hates the tat.

First off, what do your parents say? I'm guessing "NO" without room for arguments. I raised two teen girls and they both wanted tatoos, too. I woudn't allow it and now they are glad I didn't. If your parents DO allow you to alter yourself, go for a piercing instead (but NOT the tongue!). Belly rings are very girly, and the jewelry is everything from fun fairys to precious stones. If you grow out of the girly girl stage, you can always just take it out and heal. You will have many years to concider what type of tatoo you want once you turn 18. Keep this in mind though...make it mean something. I mean REALLY mean something so when your grandkids ask why you got it first you can tell them something besides "it was cute".

I hate saying for anything that your too young to do something but in this case, your too young. 14 is way way to young to get a tattoo. There is a reason why there is a law that people under 18 cant' get one without a parents permission. Are you really going to want a butterfly on your back when your 50? Yea its cool now (well for you i think personally tattoos are trashy but w.e) buts its so not going to be cool in 30 years.

I got one at 15 on my chest I am a guy. It killed me from 20 to 25. I am now 25. Some girls like it some dont and I have gotten burnt. I want to get rid of it but I cannot. It is too expensive. My advice is not to get it and if you do get it as small and in a place where you can hide. It will be with you for the rest of your life. Keep that in mind.

I got a tattoo on my lower back last year, and I am now regretting it. Did you know that a tattoo on that part of your body is called a TRAMP stamp? Is that what you want guys to think when they see it. I think the best place for a tattoo is on the back of your neck. I have a flower in the middle with tribal around it. Think long and hard before you make your decision because a tattoo is forever.

Tattoos are permanent!!! First of all you should be thinking about finishing school before you make any life long decisions like that. You also have to be 18 to even get one. I was 23 before I got my first one.
