can anyone explain whats the difference between whem??and if i'm shortsighted does it mean that i'll need single vision glasses?

They are all optical illusions,dont believe what you see??!!!

Single vision corrects your eyesight. Bifocals are split horizontally and two different prescriptions top and bottom, Varifocals are similar to bifocals, but they change gradually instead of having a line. If you are young, you will probably need single vision only.

Ste is spot on,hence my thumbs up rating.Can`t add any more except to say that of the three,varifocals are the most expensive because it is not evident that you are wearing dual vision lenses so from a cosmetic point of view they look better than bifocals.

single vision is one lens for either short or long sightedness
verifocal is one lens tapering from long to short sighted
bifocal is one lens split between long and short
