Helps with strength (just overall), your cardiorespiratory system, your joints get stronger and it is fun so it helps mentally also.

Basketball is a great way to get in shape from your cardiovascular system to your muscles. It strengthens your back and leg muscles especially.

Make sure you stretch properly before and after playing basketball, because a lot of stopping/starting can cause strain on your tendons.

If you play basketball for 30 minutes a day for 4x/week you will meet the recommended exercise that MD's prescribe!

here is a bad physical health effect from playing basketball
be careful if you are playing with someone who is really aggressive and really wanted to compete on everything.
find a way to not play with them or you with end up hurting yourself.
they might scratch you, tripe you or even knock you teeth off.
