My friend has smoked pot twice so far, and I know he will do it again, because he's getting dependent of it. I'm concerned about him, and I just want to help him. Should I tell his mom what he's doing?

Definitely not. Telling his mom will not help him, it will make his mom angry, and it's not your business to interfer in other people's affairs.. Are you perfect or something?
A true friend would just keep the secret.

I don't smoke anything. So pot was not an option for me. With that said I really do not have a problem with those that choose to do pot. I feel the same way about it as people that smoke. Please don't do it in my house, or in a confined area where I can't get away from it. I really do not want it around my kids. I think pot is safer then alcohol. I have known people that smoked pot. The majority of them did it to relax which meant they were hanging out at home. I feel that it should be legalized as that would kill a HUGE crime industry. Not much point in smuggling it over the borders or having secret deals with individuals when that person can run down to the local convenient store and pick it up. It could also be extra income for the governments as they could profit off it. I don't think it should be done while children are being watched. Like any substance, regardless of how mild it may be, it can impair your judgement. =)

No, don't narch on him. He's not getting dependent on it. He's only done it TWICE. And also.. you would lose him as a friend.. ask yourself if you want him in your life before you tell her. Pot smoking is not serious, most kids do it before there 20, and when they are adults, they don't. Now if it were cigarettes, that would be a different story. It starts out like pot, but people go on smoking tobacco for decades.. pot is a phase. It's not worth it to tell her. Unless you don't ever want to talk to your friend again.
Pot is non-addictive, so I hardly doubt he would become dependent.
Good luck though, do what you feel is best..

That is a tough one... You did not say if he is a boyfriend.. an acquaintance.. a school buddy or what. Here is the problem and then I will say what I DEFINITELY would do.
\
If you tell his mother, his mother would tell hhim that you told him even though she might have told you that she would NOT t ell h im that you told her.. THEN.. the boy would no longer be your friend no matter what.. It is possible also that the mother would turn against you for some stupid reason.

If he is a school buddy and he is smoking in school.. THEN it might be easier... you could inform on him to a school counselor and they would be more reliable in keeping the secret that YOU were the one who told her

EVEN at the risk of losing his friendship, I would tell his mother and hopefully she can get help for him.... Keep in mind that you might say.. it is only POT. but in most ALL cases.. POT smoking leads to more serious drugs

No, you shouldn't tell his mom! It's his choice. You don't get dependent on it! He might as well do it now and get it out of his system... Really a lot of people try it. It's no big deal! If he starts doing it so much his mom will eventually find it! You just be what you are to him. A friend.

That's not helping, that's going to get you beat up for ratting them out.Talk to your friend, explain to them that drugs are for depressed losers, and your not one of them.Only say something to the parents if it's get truly out of control, but if they are real parents and watch over their kids like they are suppose to,they will know soon enough.
