Angel- always tells the truth
Devil- Always lies
You wanna figure out which door will lead you to Heaven.

Which door do I take. The angel will tell you the right door and you take the opposite door the devil tells you..Or you could ask, if you cannot descerne which entity is answering...."How do I get to meet the greatest being there is." The entity will either answer with the correct door (the angel) or the entity (the devil) will answer "you just have."

If the being is wearing a red suit with horns and a tail, you ask which way to heaven? and take the opposite door. If the being is wearing a white gown with wings and a halo, you ask which way, and as they are pointing to a door, you quickly check out the feet. If the feet are cloven, then you take the opposite door. If they are regular feet, you take the door that was indicated.
Alda's answer was inventive, but the problem is that once the devil has been revealed, you still don't know which is the right door. For those who ask "which door would your counterpart say?" this won't work, because angels and the devil are not equal in the scheme of things.

Ask what door would the other guy answer. If it's the devil he'll lie and say the angel is lying. If it's the angel then he'll tell the truth about the other's lie. So just pick the other door.

Hey ppl there is only ONE being standing there you don't know if it an angel or a devil. You have to use your one question to figure it out and get the right door. I have no idea.

You ask, "Which way would your companion say is the correct path?". The liar ie devi lwould lie tell you that the truthful man ie angel would say to go down the wrong path. The truthful man ie angel would tell the truth and say that the liar ie devil would tell you to go down the wrong path. They both point to the wrong path, so then the alternate is the proper path.
