I'd call them liars.

I am an atheist, and know sex is made to reproduce. The urge/pleasure is instinct almost giving us incentive to breed. However, we have evolved beyond that point, to where we have complex society, etc. We know when to breed, and when not to (most do). We engage in sex many times just for pleasure. We can manipulate instinct for recreation (horror movies do the same).

On a side note, dolphins (the 2nd smartest animals) also have sex for pleasure.

God believers say it is just to procreate many times. But if god made sex, and did not want us to do it for pleasure, why did he make it feel good? Mitosis would have led to less sin.

Because some of them believe sex is only for procreation rather than a joyful act that also sometimes creates the miracle of procreation. They are trying to deny the pleasure, joy and gifts of the act in order to make the act of procreation more 'holy' in their view. Isn't this a denial in and of itself?

sometimes i think that too but not everybody thinks that. sex is for alot of reasons. too show how much you love or care for that special someone, making children, pleasure... whatever the case it is alwalys a great thing. i dont think it should be used for just that reason. you should not have a baby if you dont want that person in your life forever(the partner)

B/C that's the way it was in the olden days, an extremely long time ago, and what's wrong with only having sex to get pregnant

Well, I think it would be difficult to deny that the reproductive faculties do have reproduction as their primary purpose. After all, if your parents hadn't had reproductive possibilities in mind, you would not have been able to ask this question.

They're missing out on a very delightful aspect of human intimacy.

Well... that certainly isn't the Christian point of view.
God created sex for marriage and you know, I am glad he did.

Probably because they have frigid wives/husbands or girlfriends/boyfriends and are incapable of getting any.
