I have a limit of $850 on my card, but only have $600 available. If I pay it off early today (the due balance) can I use the card tommorrow to buy something that costs $800?

If the payment is applied to your account today, then you can. Sometimes it takes a couple of days (especially if you are paying by check or through the mail), then it can take a few days.

If you have the money to pay the bill why not use part of it for the purchase and put the balance on the card. $200 cash and $600 on card. The remaining $50 use as a card payment.

If fact to be safe due to interest pay $225 cash, $575 on the card, and make a $25 payment on the card. Total money is the same but no overdraw chance.

Once your payment is posted and credited (which may be another day) your credit available amount reflects that. You do not have to wait for the next statement. Statements are only a snapshot in time. Weekends should not make a difference either but play it safe and give them an extra day or have the store call them before running the card to make certain.

you can but when you get the bill you will be over your limit because not only will you have the 800 dollars on there but also the interest you owe for the 250 you owed before. and that would mean an extra charge for going over your limit.

If I were you, I would call the credit card company and ask them.
