Because sex between married people isn't lust. God loves for us to be intimate with our spouses. He doesn't want us to be with or lust after anyone else, that's where the sin comes in.

Sex isn't a sin; it was created as a good thing. Lust is what leads to sex before marriage, but sex after marriage is what God desired from the beginning. Humans have twisted it to suit their own lustful desires.

Lust is only a sin in excess; a married couple are (supposed to be) loyal only to each other, and are therefore free to bang hardy all they want. Marriages without lust are adding to our nation's 50% divorce rate.

Note that I'm using lust in the "intense longing, desire" sense of the word and not the promiscous sense of it. If you mean lust in the form of the latter, then yes, it would be a Judeo-Christian sin. I'm agnostic myself, hence my clarification.

When your married you have made a commitment to love this person and be there for them forever. It is a contract and a heart felt bringing together of God's plans. So that is holy.
During your life you see people your attracted to and you want to have sex with them. That's lust. You have no intentions of making it permanent or even binding. That is not love.

If you believe that lust is a sin, then you should know that sex is for procreation only and is not a lustful, sensual activity.

Lust and Love are not same. People do indeed fall in lust and the marriage doesn't last, because lust doesn't last. God himself approved husband and wife relationships, and God will judge the relationship be it good or evil.

Because lust is only if you do not love the woman with all your heart, mind and soul.
God wants us to have sex, just not before we are married.
