Normally because when the one person goes away they are gone for such a 'long time' that the second party of the relationship 'needs' something like sex so that person will do it swear it was just this once not be able to live with the guilt and fess up then the relationship is over.

Ok, so im in a long distance relationship right now. I see my boyfriend on the weekends and the weekends only, he works up North and I live in a dorm down south. It has worked for me for about 6 months now. You just have to have trust. I am in college imagine how hard it is for him. You just have to know that they are the only one for you and that you are the only one for them. If then it doesnt work out it is mostly because you did not have complete faith and trust in that person.

Long Distance Relationships do NOT work beacuse one there long distance and you never get to see the person so they could 1.Could be cheating on you
2. You will be tempted to Cheat on them!
But it some times works

It will work only if both people want to make it work. Both people have to be devoted and only have eyes for each other.

I have a positive example. I know of two people that met online, in other countries, and they are happily married and completely devoted to each other. Sometimes it does work.

For everyone else, there is too much temptation to stray. I know of people who have broken up when one of them has gone for a holiday overseas, because "things happen". This just means that they are not that into you if they have a mind for the possibility of something happening while they are gone.

Some do....most dont'.

They don't work because usually the people involved need contact....they need face-to-face.

You can always give it a try and see what happens....you may be the ones where it works.
