I keep it simple. Boil the water and once it starts boiling I add a little bit of salt and then the pasta. I turn the heat down a bit and let it cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. When its done, drain the water and add my fav sauce and enjoy :)

Boil a pot of water, dump in pasta, stir occasionally to keep from sticking, cook until the pasta is tender, dump into a colender to remove water, and viola!

"al dente", meaning "to the tooth" - that is, until it's easy to bite into but not soggy. I was taught to throw angel hair/ spaghetti/fettucini pasta at a drywalled or plaster wall. if it sticks, it's done. adding salt to the water will raise the boiling temperature, making it cook faster. putting in a little oil will help the noodles to stick together less. DON"T RINSE WITH COLD WATER WHEN YOU ARE DONE! only use warm water to rinse.
