The image of the beast have been shown to people all over the world for more than 2000 years already. You may know the number but with your question you surely did not understand. 666 is the reverse of 999 meaning you have the teachings but the wrong teachings. The teachings seems to be very good because the deceiver is so great you cannot see his purpose. You were warned that they may look like an angel but they are devil in disguise. All good teachings are not necessarily right. Review your Old Testament and you will find the teachings there says that you shall not add, omit or make any changes in the law but look at what changes had been made in the New Testament.

The image (Greek eikon, whence our word icon) is an image of the Antichrist or Beast, a world ruler who will arise in the last days, which will be constructed under the direction of the False Prophet, and will be given breath, or spirit (Greek word means both) and have the ablility to speak. Quite likely I think it will be a supercomputer with the personality of Antichrist life-scanned and downloaded into the computer and will likely have a direct link to all who receive the mark of the Beast (likely a microchip), all as described in Revelation Chapter 13: 11-18)

The Lord tells us that He spoke in parables (Mark 4:33, 34). This means that the entire Bible is written in parabolic language. You said that you already knew the number of the beast-666. Notice that the number is on the individuals forehead or in their right hand. This is a metaphor for "ownership." This "mark" is simply an indication of ownership, just as a cattleman brands his cattle. The idea of "forehead" indicates that these individuals are under the control of satan. The right hand is a metaphor for strength or power. The unsaved are under the control of satan and are utilized by satan to do his works. The unsaved are completely ignorant of this! In fact, we know that everyone in the churches is not saved, so undoubtedly there will be serving satan rather the Lord Jesus Christ. Look at the parable of the ten virgins--the ones who did not have oil in their lamps were unsaved (but they thought they were saved)! "For many are called, but few are chosen."

Oh, it has been widely accepted in the not-so recent past, when new scrolls (older ones) were discovered, that the number of the beast was translated incorrectly in previous versions and is NOT 666. I now feel like I've been betrayed by every one of my heavy metal album covers!
