What would u do if such an event were to happen...?

Question

Just a what-if question: What would you do if one religion (irregardless of what it was) took over the world and forced all the inhabitants to worship its deity (or at least acknowledge its authority over all moral and civil issues)?

I would resist as hard as I could, no matter what. This is one thing about religion that I personally abhor and would never ever let anyone take away my right to choose.

That religion operates as the Head Chief Religion every day. Its called the Imagination of the Heart. Here are some of its Statement of Beliefs.

1. I am God.
2. I make the rules.
3. I rule the world.
4. I am in control of my destiny.
5. What ever else I think of as I go through life.
6. There are no absolutes of this I am absolutely positive.

i'd send out the word....that i was looking for a few brave men.

i'd give those guys a rousing speech about how the current era of tyranny must end and how a new golden age of truth and justice would rise from the ashes of the crusaders' cities. Oh, i'd probably throw in something about how the recent "convertees" weren't really just "trying to get by" and keep themselves and their families living and all...In fact, the convertees were actually worse than the crusaders. (or something to that effect...you know, to make it relevant to the situation and all).

then, i would strap some explosives to those guys and give them a bus route map. And, with a good 'ole pat on the back and a heartfelt "thank you", i would send them on their way.

i would repeat this process as often as i could.

hmmm....i'd probably need a better name, too.

First of all it won't happen and if any religion tried to force something on all people there would be a great rebellion. We would not let that happen. Like worshipping other Gods. Christians would not let that happen. There would be a United force to barricade against such a movement. We would stand together and put up an armor against this.

I would probably outwardly practice that religion, but in private continue to practice my own religion. This works for me because I do not think dieties are exclusive; I worship more than one as it is (I'm pagan).

That is not a religion, it is a political dictatorship.
I would die before I let someone tell me what to believe.

Have you read the life of Christ or any of the Saints? Are you familiar with the Holocaust?

The true question is, is your life worth your religion?

Tell them what they want to hear. It doesn't have to be true.
You can believe what you want in your heart. Spirituality is more important than religion. spirituality is who you are. Religion is what you do with it.
Staying alive, preserving yourself should be your main concern.
Then, when you die (hopefully of natural causes) you have not betrayed your true self. Your spirit remains intact.

I do not think God punishes those who save themselves.
