I think it's hilarious that even though I asked them not to answer, they are still pushing their beleifs on me......and not managing to prove anything but that they beleive anything someone tells them....if they say it nicely enough.

and the reason why I didn't ask for the opinion of those who are "followers" is simply....I was an alter boy as a child (not a joke) I wasn't molested or anything tramatic....I was just brought up to beleive two things: In God...and I was taught not to beleive what I cannot beleive is true....if that make my faith weak.....heck
I'm sorry for beleiving in myself

If your statement is true, then you would not be asking this question. Because you are asking this question proves that there is a God. All men worship something. Whether it be themselves, their appetites, the planet earth, a tree, the stars, the devil, or whatever else proves that man is more than flesh and blood but also spirit. Unfortunately you are spiritually dead and cannot understand the things of the spirit. Pontius Pilate asked Jesus "what is truth" although Pilate was staring right at truth (Jesus) but could not know the truth because Pilate lived in deception.
The world is blind, dumb, and deaf. Spirit gives life to spirit, and God is the author of that spirit.
Read John 3 to attempt to understand this, but you probably won't. You must be born again to enter the kingdom of heaven. You must repent of your sins against God and trust Jesus to save you. If you don't then God is going to be your judge not your savior.
If man was going to write a holy book it sure wouldn't be the Bible. The Bible was written over 1,500 years by 40 different authors spanning 3 continents. Yet the message is the same. The old testament is God's promise to defeat death. The new testament is how God did that.

Mentally dependent? Okay when Stephen Hawking and Einstein declare they don't believe in God anymore...well too late for Einstein let me know.
It sounds as though you want to hear responses only from people who share your point of view which is not a very open minded approach at that...hardly logical and logically since you have made up your own mind and are convinced that you need not hear a countering view then there is no point in trying to present the historical validity of the Bible through archaeological evidence.
For the believer no proof is required for the skeptic no proof is possible.

Chris I will try not to give you propaganda but my experience -
Have been in a religion where I felt pain from men and their making stuff up.
God has had such a hand in my life I could not attribute it to chance or fate because I can see the design it has his fingerprints (I know this from what I read in the Bible)
I don't believe I am weak spiritted or need a crutch.
I need protection from the onslaught of the devil which I also have experienced, and Jesus is my only salvation
Religion did not save me, faith and spiritual relationship with Jesus Christ saved me.
I have many testimonies from my own life. I couldn't recount them all.

Hallowed be the Ori.
Now.. back to your question.. It's unfortunate, but people have this need to believe in something bigger than them, because they cannot fathom the notion that we, as a race, have no supreme being to fall back on. It's their way of explaining mysteries they cannot comprehend.
It's almost like being desperate for something.. their hope is so great that they'd believe in things that make no sense, are illogical and can be readily disproven from any angle. It's like seeing a mirage in the desert and believing it's there even after finding that it's not.

I can only see one weak spirited and mentally dependant person. However you are correct in saying that religion is man made and there are people out there who act as if it is a fact from a superior being. But, that still does not excuse disrespecful behavior and comments.
It is a personal and spiritual choice that should be respected even if it is not shared.
Blessed be.....

It is the weak that don't realize that truth comes from the top not the other way around. It was revealed to us. Whoever said it was man made??? quite the assumption
Just another canvas arguing with the painter on where the paint should go...best of luck

I don't see anything in your writing that indicates any depth. You're a drag. That's what having a religion does for people, it makes them imagine something other than their own boring egotistical self.

People can believe whatever they want. But for me i don't believe in religion. People in the past needed religion so it will guide them. It's possible that someone made it up just for a guide. But even if it is fake, who cares? Religion is a good thing... except when people take it too far but that's just them.

So you just want yes-men, is that it? Well, I'm not falling for that whole "crowd mentality" thing! So what DO you advocate for the strong-minded, mentally independent that would replace religion?
