I want a good camera that I could use for a bit of photography. It has to be a nikon with the dial and at least 5 mega bits or so. And the camera has to look cool. Any suggestions?

If you want a "good" camera that looks cool, get a Nikon D50. It has a few "consumer friendly" automatic modes, that make it very easy to use, but still offers total photographic control when you are ready to take charge. The "kit" lens is a decent lens optically, but you might want to upgrade to the Nikkor AF-S 18-70 f/3.5-4.5G ED DX lens. When you are ready to add lenses, the sky is the limit with Nikon.

Get a 1 GB memory card, such as the Sandisk "Ultra" for decent write speed.

Circuit City has it for $700, with the lens.

Walmart has it for $660.

Hi. I have a Canon A80 and like it a lot. Your best bet is to look at and touchy/feel as many as you can. Mine melts into my hand and takes great shots, others may work better for you and your hands.
