What Are White Scars?
White scars look like little white squares that outline the area where braces once were. "It's important for people to know that braces do not cause staining," says Dr. Hughes. "Food left on teeth comes in contact with bacteria, which causes acid. This acid robs teeth of calcium and phosphate, causing decalcification or 'white scars.'"
According to Dr. Hughes, anyone who does not practice good oral hygiene can have white scars – it's not limited to orthodontic patients. "However, people with braces are more prone to getting this decalcification because the braces act as a 'food trap,'" he says. Unfortunately, these stains are usually permanent. Although teeth can be whitened to hide the stains, who wants the additional expense after investing in braces?

I will tell you what you have got! It is white spots which are called decalcification that you notice after getting yourbraces off are from not cleaning well enough when you did have them on. Every orthodontist dreads these white spots after removal, because ultimately it reflects on their work. Essentially Proper homecare wasnt enforced during your orthodontic treatment and now you have the start of cavities. You need to get to your general dentist and get them filled and flouride treatment to stregthen your enamel quickly! Hope I wasnt ebing to harsh, but I am sure once you go to the dentist, he will tell you the same thing. Decalcification... I hope this helps you! Good Luck

This is normal. After braces are removed, the teeth that werent exposed seem to have a more cleaner look than the ones of the teeth .This will actually take a while .Get some real nice tooth paste so it will blend in.

the bottom half on my teeth used to be completely white, and for some reason it was the result of me taking too many antibiotics as a kid. i told the dentist and he took the side of a drill and sanded the spots off, and it didn't harm my teeth at all.

sorry if that's not what you were talking about!

It may be bonding from your braces. The next time you go to your orthodontist or dentist ask them how to get rid of it.
