Whenever i go places where there are people i get very hot and sweaty and think everyone is staring at me and watching my every movement. I hate going to work everyday because i have to go down this really busy road and i think people in their cars are staring at me. I keep thinking the neighbours are watching me from their windows,am i weird or what?

It's more common than what you think! Some people have it worse than others. You are probably an intelligent sensitive human-being because you've mentioned it on here to see what kind of reaction you'll experience when you read all of these answers. Are you single? If you are, the problem might go away within weeks when you meet someone you really care about. It's very common but in this world, a lot of people are too false to admit it so you're certainly not alone.

Just please enjoy life and learn to relax - and you should see your doctor for your own reassurance

I used 2 feel like U, I felt embarrased and shy. After awhile I got over it. Just think of it like this, 1 minute later every1 will forget U were walking by or that U made a comment. They won't b thinking of U anymore. I bet U can't remember ever1 U saw on Ur way 2 work this morning, & if U do they ain't thinking about U. I Mean Y would U worry about what others think of U!! U should always walk down the street carefree, like U own the world.

Good luck!!

A common misconception.
You think that you are the centre of the universe.
Parents and family encourage this belief in children.

What YOU seem to realise is that the people who are looking at you are wondering why you are looking at them while thinking that THEY are the ones at the centre of the universe.

If you get your head around the idea that you are a tiny speck of dust on a tiny planet in a reasonably sized galaxy then you should begin to feel a bit more relaxed.

you are not alone in your fears.

hmmm, something is wrong with you cause your a very people conscious person. meaning that you only think of what other people are thinking of you, which in most cases may not be the reality of the situation. the world doesn't evolve around you which means people most likely are not looking at you per say but are in fact going about their daily lives as accustomed.

O.K. you may get some really offensive answers!
Take no notice o.k. first lesson....when you use a site like this.

Please go see your doctor, and from there you may be able to get a little advice....my son had this, so I understand what you are saying...be brave, and get some help...It will be fine, as long as you listen to what the doc has to say...all the best.

You`ve got a "people" complex. You have to convince yourself that they aren`t really looking at you, they`re just to darned busy wrapped up and concentrating on what THEY`RE doing to notice anyone or anything else. Keep telling yourself this.

Im gonna agree with the social anxiety, theres really nothing you can do for it other then see a doctor. Unless you can foccus your attention on something else (which i dont suggest you doing while your driving) i dont know of any other options that would actualy help you.

just remember, odds are if they are looking at you its because they think you are looking at them.

You are having a panic attack. It is an anxiety problem. When you are out of your comfort level you are in "fight or flight" mode. It normal and treatable. You need to figure out what works with your life.
