Why are christians so hateful? They didn't care about my open marriage with Maurice, all the drinking on the show, Uncle arthur and Serenas constant references to getting stoned, three of the main chracters were played by gay men(Maurice Evans, Paul Lynde, and Dick Sargeant) but the fact that we were witches was cause for alarm? What twisted bigotry....your thoughts?

I'm a Christian...
I didn't boycott Disney...
I didn't boycott Harry Potter....
I love Halloween....
And I don't understand why anyone would have any problems with the TV sitcom, Bewitched...

But I have always been a bit jealous of Endora...
Now, that's the kind of mother-in-law I wanna be...

I think bewitched is a cute show.

However it is trying to sneak in witchcraft and the concept of it as a safe lifestyle practice.

when I believe that Satan is the power behind witches.

It is the devils plan to steal and seduce people with lies and counterfiets... That is most scary to fathom that children particularly will be easily drawn into that world.

The other things are not necessarily ok either, but nobody in censorship cares about those things anymore. It is about entertainment value and not about truth.

I probably should quit watching alot of shows because of your above question... Thanks for pointing it out.

Because they are very naive and don't understand the concept of fiction being entertaining but not having to be a belief. Probably the same loons who protested Harry Potter. I'm christian, and I love fantasy, vampires, ghosts, werewolves, witches, etc., doesn't mean I believe in them. I think they're just bored and sometimes bored people like to make life miserable for everyone else.

Some people seem to just look for things to hate.

I loved Bewitched. I'm old enough to remember when it was first aired an not on the classic channel or the movie remake. I remember standing in front of the mirror trying to twitch my nose.

I think you must be talking about extreme, fundamental Christians, because I surely don't have a problem with it, it's just entertainment. If you don't like it, don't watch it. Unfortunately, there are extreme people in all lifestyles and beliefs. We surely can't hold the bigotry of some against everyone who believe in Christ.

If I understood what Bewitched was, I would answer better, but I spend little time in front of the television. Personally, I feel christians blindly follow their bible, ignoring the outside world. Well, ok they don't ignore it, they just deem anything not mentioned in their bible as a product of satan. Anything that they feel a threat from becomes satanic without them ever investigating it.
