Make your own crumbs with a food processor and dry bread or buy, heat butter in frying pan on medium heat. Use quarter cup butter to about 1 and 1/2 cups bread crumbs and combine with the melted butter. Toast crumbs to a light golden brown. If desired, add some minced parsley or dill and pinch of salt.
Sprinkle over 'al dente' cauliflower and enjoy!

I take it that you mean for a cauliflower casserole? The two recipes I have included are delish. If I just steam my califlower I put a cheese sauce or some american cheese on it while it is hot to melt. I also like to saute my cauliflower (saute in a non-stick skillet with a little extra virgin olive oil, chopped onion and salt and pepper) when it is finished add a bit of shredded mild cheddar cheese and cover til it melts.
CAULIFLOWER & CHEESE BAKE
1 head cauliflower
3 tbsp. olive oil
1 lg. onion, sliced thin
Salt & pepper to taste
1/3 c. fine bread crumbs
1 (8 oz.) pkg. mozzarella cheese, grated
1. Cut off cauliflower flowerettes.
2. Steam until tender (approximately 20 minutes).
3. Meanwhile saute onions in oil until golden.
4. Pour in crumbs. Stir.
5. Layer cauliflower, cheese and onions in a baking dish.
6. Season with salt and pepper.
7. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
8. Place under broiler until cheese melts and top turns light brown.
CREAMY CAULIFLOWER BAKE
1 med. head cauliflower or 1 1/2 lb. broccoli, cut into pieces (you may use 2 pkg. frozen vegetables)
1 can (10 3/4 oz.) condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/4 c. milk
1/2-1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
1 c. Bisquick baking mix
1/4 c. firm butter
Heat 1 inch salted water to boiling. Add cauliflower. Cover and heat to boiling. Cook until almost tender, 10-12 minutes. Drain and place in ungreased 1 1/2 quart round casserole.
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Beat soup and milk with hand beater until smooth; pour over cauliflower. Sprinkle with cheese. Mix baking mix and butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over cheese. Bake until crumbs are light brown, about 20 minutes. 6-8 servings.

You can brown the desired amount of breadcrumbs with butter (just enough to coat the crumbs) then toss in steamed cauliflower.

You could use crushed french fried onions (they come in cheese flavor too). Or, drizzle the cooked cauliflower w melted butter, coat it with shreddedd Parmesan cheese and bake. Or, you could sub cauliflower for broc in this one - using stuffing mix:
Cauliflower Casserole
1 large head cauliflower, broken into small florets
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2/3 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
1 pinch salt
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add cauliflower and cook for about 10 minutes. Drain and place in a 2-quart casserole dish.
In a small bowl combine butter, Parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, salt and red pepper flakes. Sprinkle mixture over casserole and top with Cheddar cheese. Bake for 20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
---------------
Cheesy Broccoli-Cauliflower Casserole
1 can cream of celery soup
1 cup mayonnaise
1 egg - beaten
2 packages (10 oz. each) )frozen chopped broccoli, partially thawed
1 package (10 oz.) frozen cauliflower, partially thawed
12 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. paprika
Spray a large casserole dish with non-stick spray. In a mixing bowl combine the soup, mayonaisse and beaten egg. Place the partially thawed broccoli and cauliflower in another large mixing bowl. Stir in the soup, mayonnaise and egg mixture. Add 8 oz. cheese and the seasonings and mix well. Pour the mixture into the prepared casserole dish. Use a spatula to smooth the top of casserole. Bake in a preheated oven at 350º for 45 minutes. Top with the remaining 4 oz. of cheese and bake for 5 more minutes.
