Because your mom was a 14 almost 15 year old girl once, and she knows what the boys tried or did to her, thats why she is like this, she is only looking out for you, but I know you think you can handle your self, and you make good decisions, but it's hard being a parent, and you see your child doing the same dumb things you did, and not say anything, what you should do is sit your mom down, and have a good mother daughter talk, and ask her how her teen years were, and how the guys treated her. It will draw you closer together, and you might learn somethings that will help you in the long run.
God Bless

She is like this because she trusts you but really knows how 16 year old boys can be. She really does trust you she just doesn't trust boys with you. You are still young and she is trying to protect you. Have you tryed the group thing? Get a group of your friends together and plan a night out together. Maybe then your mom will let you go. Has your mom met your crush? That also helps sometimes. Have him come hang out at the house so she can get to know him better. Good Luck

Your mother loves you!! Believe me, I know how 16 year olds are too..She is only looking out for your best interest. If she trusts you that is great, but she don't trust the other side, and I wouldn't either. Stay young and have fun, but always be careful! Invite him over for a movie or something, and then wait a while til your mom feels comfortable enough with him, and then ask her if you can go out with him ...just for dinner (to start out)..then when she can build the trust a little more...then she will be WILLING to give a little more...
Best of luck to you sweetie:)

It is the 16 year old guy your Mom doesn't trust, not you.
