Hey, all she has got to realize is that it is a beautiful holiday and singing a song like I'm sure must bring back memories of when she was little-that's always cool!

Hi! What song are you singing? If the song is offensive, then it should be changed, or at the very least toned down big time. The last thing you want to do is sing a song that is offensive to the religion. I live in a non Jewish area, and my neighbors and friends go out of there way to be nice and sensitive about Hanukkah. I don't know how I would feel if the school chorus sang a song that I felt offended by. Moreover, in my school district they don't sing any religious songs, or holiday songs.
Good Luck.

I would consider talking to the chorus leader & ask if a different song could be sung?
Realize that Hanukkah is aimed at children. It's a fun, simple holiday meant to be a pleasant, light-hearted day of remembering our history.
Sum it up like this...
They attacked us.
We won.
Let's eat!
A tradition I developed while in Israel was...the week of Hanukkah, go for a walk in the Evening & look at all the beautiful hannakiah in the windows. Beautiful!
Focus on the jelly-filled donuts; do it for the kids; & enjoy yourself.

a million. I purely wanna recognize that how do people celebrate Hanukkah? gentle candles in a window. upload stuff to prayers. some who're extra "cutting-part" will provide presents. 2. How do people celebrate Hanukkah, to boot that in both the previous time and the modern? Like after international warfare II to now. what's the version/ or adjustments between those 2 time period? The present giving has grow to be extra familiar. 3. What custom/ equipment, etc are necessary with the intention to celebrate this pageant? round 50 candles/ a bottle of oil and 9 glass bulbs with wicks. 4. inspite of the candle (the gentle), what else is likewise major in celebrating Hanukkah? replacing the prayers a touch, and ingesting fried ingredients.

Hanukkah is usually centered around children (at least among families who try to make it into a competition with Christmas), so that's probably why the song appears childish. All in all, though, it beats having to sing another Christmas carol if you're Jewish.

A song gives the holiday a bad name? What song is this? I assume that you must think that singing all the songs with the name "Santa" is stupid too?
