Thank You is the catch-all for compliments. Even if you don't agree, at least acknowledge that you have received one and say thank you, because the person who gave it meant it.

Simply say thank you, and if appropriate add a comment.

I have an old sweater that I love. People are always complimenting on it. It's really old from the 60's. I say, thank you, I really love it too. You won't see one like this unless someone makes it, as this one was made by my Aunt in the 60's and I just love it!

A lot of women make the mistake of saying, oh this old thing, which makes the person who compliments you feel awful for having bothered to offer a compliment.

Between two extremes, find the middle ground on which you can stand comfortably in accepting compliments graciously.

Put on a great big smile and say, "Oh, well, thank you!"

Whatever you do, don't contest a compliment. If someone compliments you on a dress, don't say, "Oh, this old thing? I've had this lying around for years..." If someone's kind enough to compliment you, don't insult them by implying that their judgement is impaired.

I genuinely love it when I get compliments, so I never really think about what to say.. I just respond with out thinking I guess.

I guess say "thank you"
I'm not good at it though. My husband says I always find a way to turn in around. Like he'll say "You look nice today" and then I'll say somthing stupid like "Oh, so I look bad every other day!?"

I think this stems from mother issues. Her compliments would be like " Oh, if your skirt was 1 inch longer, you would look very nice."

I used to have trouble accepting compliments. because I grew up accustomed to criticism. believe it or not, when I finally decided to take control of my life/health and joined Weight Watchers, they also helped changed my attitude as well as improve my health.
I smile and say "thank you!"

Depends on what the compliment is for, but basically, "Thank you" and a big SMILE.
